Course Outline
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to address duty of care requirements, working within an ethical framework and applying relevant legislation, codes of conduct, international agreements (such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child), policies and procedures in identifying, responding and supporting children’s and young people’s rights and safety.
This unit applies to workers involved in delivering services to children and young people in a wide range of community services and work contexts.

Length: 5-8 hours
Delivery: Theory Online and Tasks completed within the workplace
Placement: Skills must be demonstrated in the workplace. You will need to be working in a setting that provides services to children and young people, and will be required to complete tasks and an observation log book as part of your assessment.
Requirements:
You will have a maximum of 6 months (183 days) to complete the unit. On average this unit takes 5-8 hours to complete.
Upon completion you will recieve a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

Theory
With our E-Learning system you are able to access your study at anytime, either on a mobile device, tablet, laptop or computer.
Placement
You are required to have access to a workplace that provides services to children and young people. There are no minimum hours of placement required, but you will be required to have an observation booklet signed by a supervisor from your workplace.
