Yes, I enjoy the work especially when I am in a friendly team environment.
Have you always wanted to work with children?
Working with children was not always my first choice but having my mother, grandma and aunties all working in the childcare industry, it was a career path that I had thought about often. I am happy that I have made the choice to follow this path.
What is the best thing about working with children?
Watching them learn and grow and knowing that you have helped and supported them. When they reach new milestones or are able to do something they couldn’t do before it is very rewarding.
Any tips for juggling work and study commitments?
Time management, don’t try and study when you feel stressed or anxious. Study in smaller blocks of time to allow yourself some “me time". Don’t try to study when you are hungry. Find a nice quiet place that has a calming space for you to think.
What advice would you give to other students thinking of studying?
Research the industry first to make sure it is what you want to do. Have a look at the study requirements to see if it is achievable and can fit into your lifestyle. Make sure you are ready to commit to the term of the course. Have a passion for the industry.
Do you have any study tips to give to other students thinking of studying?
Find a study buddy. Access the available information given to you by the training organisation. If the questions seem over whelming, break it down into smaller parts. Try to answer the questions using the language within the question. Choose a study time when you feel fresh and alert.
